The lip injection procedure begins with a detailed consultation in which the effects and possible side effects are discussed. Realistic goals are set together with the patient.
After the area to be treated has been cleaned and disinfected, injection points are defined according to individual wishes and facial anatomy. The hyaluronic acid is carefully and specifically injected into the lips at these points. The treatment usually only takes a few minutes.

Yes, it is possible to inject either just the upper lip or just the lower lip with hyaluronic acid. The decision depends on the individual wishes and needs of the patient. Some people prefer to emphasize the upper lip to achieve more volume and definition, while others prefer to focus on the lower lip to create a harmonious overall look. We offer a detailed consultation and work with you to determine the best approach to achieve the desired results.
The shelf life of hyaluronic acid varies depending on the product used and the treatment region. For example, it depends on whether the product is applied to an area with good circulation. The shelf life varies from 6-18 months. We will be happy to clarify any questions regarding shelf life in a personal consultation. In the area of the lips where there is a lot of movement, the shelf life after the first treatment is 3-6 months and increases with the number of treatments (up to 1-2 years). This is due to the fact that individual "cavities" in the lip mucosa must first be filled like a foundation.
Results can be seen immediately after the procedure and improve over the following 12 weeks.
Lip injections with hyaluronic acid can be associated with some discomfort, but most people find the treatment well tolerated. A topical anaesthetic cream or local anaesthetic injection can be used before the injection to minimize possible pain. We only use hyaluronic acid products that already contain an anesthetic to increase comfort during treatment.
There may be a slight feeling of pressure or stinging during the injection, but most patients report that this is well tolerated. Some also experience a slight burning or tingling sensation, but this quickly subsides.
After the treatment, the lips may be slightly swollen and sensitive for a few hours or days. This is usually temporary and will subside on its own. It is recommended to apply cooling compresses or ice packs to the treated areas to reduce swelling and possible discomfort.
Rules of conduct after treatment with hyaluronic acid
- Do not smoke for at least 4 hours after treatment
- Make-up only from the following day
- No intensive competitive sport, sun, sauna or solarium for at least 24 hours
Particular attention should be paid to lip injections:
- Avoid wearing lipstick or other cosmetic products on the treated lips on the day of treatment.
- Avoid hot drinks or food for at least 4 hours after treatment.

- Improve lip contour: Hyaluronic acid can be used to define the lip contour and improve lip shape. Botox can be used to relax the muscles around the mouth and optimize the result.
- "V-Shaping": V-Shaping is an aesthetic concept that aims to contour and shape the face to achieve a V-shaped facial structure. There are various treatments that can be combined for V-shaping. Here are some options:
- Filler: Hyaluronic acid fillers can be used to increase volume in certain areas of the face and achieve the desired contour. This can be achieved, for example, by injecting the cheekbones or chin. (e.g. Facelift with hyaluron)
- Botox: Botox can be used to relax the muscles and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It can also be used to improve the contour of the face by relaxing the muscles around the jawline, creating a slimmer facial shape.
